Assistant Store Manager, Retail & Customer Service
Overview
Own day-to-day store operations and people leadership at a Pinch A Penny location with a focus on delivering an outstanding customer experience. Lead shifts, coach and train associates, and ensure merchandising, cash handling, and safety standards are consistently executed. Drive scheduling, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to support store goals. This role differs by blending frontline leadership with hands-on product knowledge in a specialty retail environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead daily store operations and customer service standards to achieve sales goals
- 2Serve as Manager-on-Duty including opening and closing in alignment with procedures
- 3Assist with cash handling, register balancing, deposits, and daily reporting to ensure accuracy
- 4Provide product expertise and hands-on customer support and escalate complex issues as needed
- 5Supervise associates during shifts by assigning tasks and reinforcing performance expectations
- 6Ensure store standards are maintained for cleanliness, stocking, pricing, and promotional displays
- 7Support onboarding and ongoing training in customer service, safety, POS operation, and company policies
- 8Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and staffing coordination
- 9Coordinate with Store Manager on pool service/repair communication and scheduling as applicable
- 10Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements6
- 1Must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 2High School Diploma or GED
- 3Retail and customer service experience required; pool supply industry experience preferred
- 4Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand or walk for extended periods
- 6Availability to work weekends and some holidays
