Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations
Overview
You will own daily store operations, customer service, and team development at a high-volume Family Dollar location. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will coordinate merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention while training associates. What You'll Do8
- 1Own opening and closing procedures, ensuring cash handling and security protocols are followed.
- 2Lead merchandise flow from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintaining seasonal displays.
- 3Execute corporate directives for Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey requests.
- 4Maintain store-front fixtures and displays to maximize promotional effectiveness.
- 5Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and managing records for payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits.
- 6Train and develop store associates on policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- 7Ensure a clean, safe, and organized store, including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
- 8Protect company assets by enforcing loss prevention measures and secure cash handling.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives.
- 2Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
- 3Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and meet physical demands including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
- 4Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- 5Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- 6Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- 7Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
- 8Must qualify for alcohol and tobacco sales license if required by local jurisdiction.
