Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations
Overview
You will own daily store operations, customer service, and team development at a Family Dollar location. You will drive sales floor readiness, manage inventory flow, and enforce loss prevention. You will work directly with the Store Manager to train and develop associates. This role offers a direct path to Store Manager and requires hands-on leadership in a high-volume retail environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Run daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, to keep the store ready for customers.
- 2Lead customer interactions by resolving questions and concerns in a positive, approachable manner.
- 3Direct the flow of merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, keeping seasonal areas fully stocked.
- 4Execute corporate directives for Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey requests.
- 5Maintain merchandising standards by building eye-catching displays and managing store-front fixtures.
- 6Process ordering, damaged merchandise, and record keeping for payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits.
- 7Enforce loss prevention protocols to protect company assets, including store cash.
- 8Coach and train store associates on policies, safety, and customer service to ensure a positive work environment.
- 9Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, floors, and trash removal, to company standards.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives like merchandise schematics.
- 2Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
- 3Ability to lift 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet the physical demands of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
- 4Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- 5Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
- 6Problem solving and decision-making skills to handle store issues quickly.
- 7Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
