Overview
As Assistant Store Manager, you will own daily store operations, customer experience, and team development at a high-volume Dollar Tree location. You will coordinate freight flow from delivery truck to sales floor, execute corporate directives, and maintain merchandising standards. You will support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing associates, while ensuring a safe and clean environment. This role requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with opportunities to grow in retail leadership.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities, including opening and closing procedures.
- 2Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- 3Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained.
- 4Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests.
- 5Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
- 6Order merchandise, process damaged merchandise, and handle record keeping for payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts.
- 7Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash, and adhere to policies and safety guidelines.
- 8Supervise, train, and develop store associates, ensuring a positive and safe environment.
- 9Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms, floors, and trash removal, to company standards.
- 10Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) required.
- 2Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
- 3Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- 4Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- 5Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
- 6Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
- 7Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
Salary Insight
