Assistant Store Manager at Dollar Tree | Operations & Team Leadership
Overview
Assistant Store Manager will own daily store operations and team supervision at a high-volume Dollar Tree. This role balances customer service, merchandising, and back-of-house duties to keep the store profitable and compliant. The Assistant Manager works alongside the Store Manager to train associates, execute corporate directives, and maintain store standards. This position offers a path to store leadership with hands-on management experience.
What You'll Do9
- 1Run opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and register deposits
- 2Unload delivery trucks, sort merchandise, and stock sales floor to planograms
- 3Execute Pull and Hold, Destroy, and Task Compliance directives from corporate
- 4Train and coach store associates on customer service and safety procedures
- 5Audit store displays and fixtures to maximize promotional effectiveness
- 6Order merchandise and process damaged goods, keeping inventory accurate
- 7Schedule staff and manage payroll records to meet labor targets
- 8Enforce loss prevention policies to protect company assets
- 9Maintain clean restrooms, floors, and trash removal to company standards
Requirements6
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with ability to read and interpret operational directives
- 21+ years store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
- 3Lift 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height, and stand, walk, stoop, and kneel frequently
- 4Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer and team interactions
- 5Work in a high-energy, team-based environment with a positive attitude
- 6Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills in daily operations
