Overview
Assistant Project Manager supports planning coordination delivery of complex data center construction projects from design through commissioning and closeout. Central point for project information documentation communication ensuring safe on schedule within budget aligned with quality expectations. Based onsite Phoenix offering owner side experience on large technologically advanced mission critical infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do11
- 1Support project managers with day to day project planning execution delivery across full project lifecycle including startup mobilization execution commissioning turnover closeout
- 2Assist in developing and maintaining project execution plans schedules and work plans aligning with organizational objectives
- 3Coordinate project activities among multiple stakeholders and disciplines including contractors consultants designers vendors and internal teams
- 4Monitor milestones deliverables and key performance indicators helping ensure project goals are met
- 5Support schedule management tracking progress against baselines monitoring critical path activities identifying risks delays and constraints
- 6Coordinate collection of schedule updates from team members and contractors assisting preparation of updates recovery plans and forecasting reports
- 7Assist with project budgeting forecasting and cost tracking monitoring expenditures against approved budgets tracking commitments purchase orders invoices and overall project costs
- 8Maintain accurate project records organizing files correspondence reports meeting records and formal submissions managing document control processes
- 9Track document review and approval workflows maintain project logs and registers ensure version control support project audits compliance reviews turnover and closeout documentation
- 10Assist with contract administration supporting management of project contracts tracking deliverables and obligations maintaining contract related records and status trackers
- 11Support procurement and vendor coordination activities monitoring status of submittals requests and approvals preparing commercial documentation and project summaries
Requirements18
- 13–5+ years experience in construction construction management or coordination including coordinating activities managing action items supporting project delivery
- 22–4+ years experience in schedule management and project controls including reviewing tracking milestones maintaining trackers and dashboards identifying schedule risks using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
- 33–5+ years experience in construction documentation and change management including managing submittals RFIs meeting minutes change orders invoices purchase orders project records and document control systems
- 4Typical software knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook
- 5Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software for construction projects
- 6Familiarity with SharePoint or similar document management platforms
- 7Experience using project management information systems collaboration and communication platforms financial tracking and reporting systems document control systems construction management software and reporting and dashboard tools
- 8Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture Project Management Business or related discipline preferred
- 9Relevant experience in project management construction engineering operations supporting complex design and construction projects
- 10Experience supporting large multi stakeholder projects such as large capital projects or mission critical facilities
- 11Knowledge of project lifecycle management principles familiarity with design construction procurement commissioning and closeout processes
- 12Background in construction management engineering architecture project controls or owner side project management highly valuable
- 13Experience coordinating among contractors consultants vendors and stakeholders with strong communication and issue resolution capabilities
- 14Experience with project scheduling reporting document control change management cost tracking and meeting coordination
- 15Professional certifications such as CAPM PMP CCM PMI SP or equivalent desirable
- 16Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues anticipate potential project impacts maintain organized accurate project information produce reliable actionable reporting
- 17Work environment onsite Phoenix 40 hour week no overtime combining office coordination with regular site walks inspections and field observations
- 18Use of specific safety equipment including monitor keyboard headset mouse Class 2 safety helmet Class 2 or higher safety vest cut and impact resistant gloves ANSI Z87.1 or higher safety glasses or visor composite toe work boots extending at least four inches above ankle and Class 2 or higher reflective jacket suitable for cold and wet weather
