Assistant Manager Airport Role | Food Industry Leadership
Overview
You will own daily operations at the Indianapolis International Airport café, leading a team of 20+ to deliver exceptional hospitality and drive sales. You will support the General Manager in all aspects of running a high-volume location, from shift execution to inventory control. Your first 90 days focus on mastering café workflows, including sandwiches, smoothies, and specialty drinks, while coaching team members to uphold our HEART Culture. What You'll Do8
- 1Lead shift operations to ensure smooth service and a welcoming guest experience, modeling HEART Culture values
- 2Coach and develop hourly team members to exceed customer expectations, providing real-time feedback and support
- 3Manage product ordering, inventory counts, and food cost targets using Microsoft Office Suite to track and adjust pars
- 4Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, turning issues into opportunities for loyalty
- 5Drive sales growth by motivating the team and maintaining high hospitality standards
- 6Assist the General Manager with daily administrative tasks, including scheduling and shift coverage
- 7Uphold company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety
- 8Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions, demonstrating sound decision-making under pressure
Requirements9
- 12+ years of food industry experience
- 22+ years of management experience in a restaurant or café setting
- 3Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of 20+ employees
- 4Strong knowledge of food cost management, product ordering, and inventory control
- 5Excellent communication and active listening skills
- 6Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- 7Passion for food and hospitality
- 8Ability to work nights and weekends (Monday through Sunday, shifts between 5:00 AM and 11:00 PM)
- 9Comfortable working in a fast-paced airport environment
