Overview
Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in a safe, nurturing environment for young children across a Georgia DECAL aligned program. Build skills in social, emotional, and cognitive development while ensuring supervision. Collaborate with staff and families to promote consistent care and learning. This role emphasizes teamwork, continuing education, and adapting in a dynamic childcare setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assist the Lead Teacher in daily care and supervision of children
- 2Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards
- 3Support implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration and early communication
- 4Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families
- 5Follow licensing and program guidelines for health, safety, and sanitation
- 6Participate in staff meetings and required professional development for Quality Rated compliance
- 7Support classroom activities and materials preparation
- 8Support behavior monitoring and positive guidance
- 9Assist with documentation and record-keeping
- 10Collaborate with team to maintain a nurturing learning environment
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED required
- 2Must be 18 years of age
- 3Ability to Pass a Background Check
- 4Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
- 5Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines
- 6Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children
- 7Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning
- 8Nice To Have: Teaching/Childcare 1 year preferred
- 9Nice To Have: In progress or willingness to obtain CDA, TCC, or paraprofessional
- 10Nice To Have: Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed
