Assistant Center Director, Math Tutoring & Bilingual Vietnamese
Overview
Own and run a Mathnasium center with direct leadership responsibility in Garden Grove. Lead instructors, train new hires, handle parent questions, manage enrollment and retention, and administer diagnostic assessments. This role sits just below the Center Director and offers two tracks based on prior management experience. The position requires fluent Vietnamese and English and is onsite with predictable hours.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build a high-performing instruction team and supervise instructors
- 2Train new hires and coach staff to deliver the Mathnasium Method™
- 3Own enrollment conversations and retention strategies to grow center traffic
- 4Diagnose student math abilities and administer assessments
- 5Act as Center Director in their absence and ensure smooth daily operations
- 6Lead parent communications, escalations, and relationships to maintain satisfaction
- 7Scale operations to meet monthly goals and contribute to center profitability
- 8Drive community outreach and engagement to raise center visibility
- 9Monitor performance metrics and report progress to leadership
Requirements10
- 1Fluent in Vietnamese and English
- 2Track One: Five or more years of management or supervisory experience with math-specific instructional background
- 3Track Two: Five or fewer years of experience managing a team or a Center or graduate student/retired/credentialed teacher with leadership potential
- 4Math instructional ability across Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics
- 5Reliable transportation and onsite presence in Garden Grove
- 6Ability to work Monday-Thursday 3:00 PM–7:00 PM and Saturday
- 7Strong communication and parent relationship management skills
- 8Comfort with administering diagnostic math assessments
- 9Track One candidates demonstrate direct operational leadership experience
- 10Track Two candidates show a documented path to Assistant Center Director status
