Overview
As an Asset Protection Detective at Macy's Fairlane Town Center, you will protect company assets and reduce shortage using surveillance techniques and investigative tools. What You'll Do9
- 1Use surveillance techniques and investigative tools to identify theft, dishonest activity, and shortage trends.
- 2Partner with Asset Protection leaders, store teams, and law enforcement to support investigations.
- 3Apply de-escalation tools and sound judgment to maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
- 4Prepare clear documentation, statements, and evidence to support investigations, audits, and legal proceedings.
- 5Train colleagues on asset protection protocols to protect company assets.
- 6Recover stolen merchandise and provide statements and evidence to support investigations.
- 7Maintain compliance with company policies and legal standards for apprehensions and evidence.
- 8Testify in court for criminal and civil cases as needed.
- 9Respond to alarm calls and support special assignments, including first aid.
Requirements8
- 1Ability to observe, identify, and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment.
- 2Strong communication skills to partner with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement.
- 3Ability to use sound judgment, de-escalation tools, and company procedures.
- 4Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- 5Current New York State Security Guard License for jobs in New York.
- 6Experience in retail, customer service, asset protection, security, or investigations preferred.
- 7Ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation.
- 8Experience with surveillance systems and reporting tools preferred.
