Area Manager, After-School Programs & Multi-Unit Leadership
Overview
Lead a portfolio of before- and after-school programs across the Greater Portland area, owning enrollment growth and program quality for elementary-aged students. You will recruit and coach Program Directors and teaching teams, building a culture of excellence. Partner with school administrators and families to drive retention and community impact. This role leverages your retail or service leadership background into a purpose-driven career with 5+ years of team leadership. You'll travel across the market to support multiple locations, making a direct difference in children's lives.
What You'll Do8
- 1Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing Program Directors and teaching teams to meet enrollment targets.
- 2Lead multiple school-age programs on elementary campuses, driving operational excellence and consistent quality.
- 3Analyze business metrics to identify growth opportunities and implement strategies for enrollment and family retention.
- 4Build strong partnerships with school administrators, families, and community organizations to enhance program visibility.
- 5Ensure all programs comply with Oregon licensing and company standards, conducting regular site visits.
- 6Foster a positive, engaging culture where staff feel supported and empowered to succeed.
- 7Travel throughout the Greater Portland market to provide hands-on support and mentorship.
- 8Drive continuous improvement by setting clear goals and holding teams accountable for outcomes.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, banking, healthcare, or restaurants.
- 22+ years of multi-unit or multi-site management experience preferred, but strong single-site leaders welcome.
- 3Proven track record of coaching and developing leaders or large teams.
- 4Strong business acumen with ability to use metrics to drive performance.
- 5Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
- 6Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- 7Ability to manage multiple priorities across several locations.
- 8Willingness to travel throughout the Greater Portland area.
Salary Insight
$80 - $85k per year
