Apprentice Engineer, Commercial Building Maintenance
Overview
Support building operations for a portfolio of commercial properties in Houston. Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Work alongside senior engineers to maintain equipment, respond to emergencies, and uphold safety standards. This role offers hands-on training and a path to advance in facilities engineering.
What You'll Do10
- 1Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems across assigned buildings.
- 2Service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and mechanical drives.
- 3Install and modify building equipment and systems.
- 4Repair finishes such as ceiling tiles, doors, and paint walls and piping.
- 5Respond to emergency calls and customer requests within shift.
- 6Inspect buildings and equipment for safety and performance.
- 7Operate fire and life safety systems including alarms and pumps.
- 8Use smart phones, tablets, and building automation systems for work orders.
- 9Perform carpentry and snow removal as needed.
- 10Document work in CMMS and complete safety training.
Requirements7
- 12+ years in commercial property maintenance or equivalent training.
- 2High school diploma or GED.
- 3Vocational training in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical repair.
- 4Valid driver's license with clean record.
- 5Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- 6Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varied environments.
- 7Available for shift work and on-call emergencies.
