Overview
The Hudson Clean Heat Applications Engineer leads design coordination and implementation of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems using water source heat pump technology. This role involves applying engineering experience in MEP disciplines and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project delivery.
What You'll Do19
- 1Design & Engineering Development Build detailed design layouts calculations and specifications for heat pump electrical and plumbing systems
- 2Perform equipment selection sizing load calculations and energy analysis
- 3Review and apply building codes standards ASHRAE NFPA NEC and IPC
- 4Develop schematic designs and support design development and construction documents
- 5Collaborate with Sales Team on pre sale engineering characteristics
- 6Coordinate MEP systems across project teams to resolve conflicts
- 7Support project manager in preparing design packages for client review
- 8Participate in project meetings and communicate engineering concepts to stakeholders
- 9Review submittals shop drawings and RFIs during construction phase
- 10Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor compliance with design intent
- 11Assist in commissioning support and functional performance testing of MEP systems
- 12Prepare engineering reports technical specifications basis of design documents
- 13Maintain accurate documentation throughout project lifecycle
- 14Participate in value engineering exercises and support lifecycle cost analysis
- 15Ensure designs comply with environmental health and safety regulations
- 16Incorporate sustainable design principles and energy efficiency best practices
- 17Stay current with technological advancements industry best practices and code changes
- 18Pursue professional development opportunities including licensure
- 19Own and manage multiple projects within a dynamic environment
Requirements13
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 years experience in MEP design and engineering
- 3Bachelor’s degree in mechanical electrical or architectural engineering
- 4Proficiency in design software AutoCAD MEP Revit and/or similar BIM tools
- 5Familiarity with energy modeling software and calculation tools
- 6Strong understanding of construction processes and building systems integration
- 7Effective communication and coordination skills
- 8EIT certification preferred
- 9PE license advantageous but not mandatory at this level
- 10Legally permitted to work in the United States of America
- 11Pass a background check and drug screening
- 12Reliably commute to Sleepy Hollow NY office and occasional job sites
- 13Own auto insurance in own name meeting corporate coverage minimums
