Analytical Chemist, Wet Chemistry & Instrumentation in Metal Finishing
Overview
This role owns analytical testing for Tier 1 and OEM customers at a metal finishing lab scale. You will perform wet chemistry, operate instruments like HPLC and XRF, and contribute to technical service projects. You will join a collaborative team focused on method development and customer-driven testing while maintaining strict safety and documentation standards. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform daily analytical testing to meet customer requirements for Tier 1 and OEM customers
- 2Design and execute wet chemistry procedures such as pH, viscosity, and titrations to evaluate raw materials and finished products
- 3Operate and maintain instrumentation including HPLC, UV-VIS, ICP, XRF, and microscopy equipment
- 4Record results in Excel and upload data to the cloud based system to ensure traceable laboratory records
- 5Provide technical support to sales and technical service teams for internal projects and customer testing needs
- 6Support customer projects by establishing testing procedures and ensuring correct analysis methods are followed and documented
- 7Develop, validate, and improve test methods using titrations, HPLC, IC, and other analytical techniques
- 8Investigate and implement new tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures to enhance laboratory capabilities
- 9Maintain laboratory equipment through preventive maintenance and calibration schedules
- 10Follow safety regulations and proper handling of samples to maintain a safe work environment
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry as an option
- 20–2 years of laboratory experience including wet chemistry
- 3Proficiency with wet and analytic chemistry techniques such as pH testing, viscosity testing, titrations
- 4Strong math skills and ability to document test results accurately
- 5Experience working in a chemistry or wet chemistry laboratory environment
