Aluminum Die Casting Operator, High-Pressure CNC
Overview
Operate high-pressure aluminum die cast cells producing precision parts for the automotive and on-highway truck industry at the Clackamas, OR facility. You own the process from setup to monitoring, ensuring consistent quality and compliance. Work with a close-knit team and report to the shift lead. This role offers a swing shift premium and a clear wage progression after 90 days.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate high-pressure aluminum die casting machines to produce components for automotive and on-highway truck applications.
- 2Use a crane to position and bolt die sections into the machine, adjusting the ram stroke for each job.
- 3Conduct safety checks on all equipment at start of shift, correcting or reporting hazards immediately.
- 4Connect water hoses to die cooling systems and preheat die sections with electric heaters.
- 5Set valves and dials to regulate water flow and machine speed, tuning to part size, structure, and metal type.
- 6Adjust air and spray devices to clear metal fragments and apply lubricant to die cavities and plungers.
- 7Configure automatic equipment to ladle molten metal into the machine chamber, verifying metal level and furnace temperature.
- 8Monitor process parameters, measure critical variables, and make machine adjustments to maintain a consistent process.
Requirements7
- 1CNC Machine Setup and changeover experience for 2-4 axis lathes.
- 23+ years in automotive manufacturing systems and metal casting.
- 3Ability to read and interpret process specifications and dials.
- 4Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for full shifts.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6Experience with high-pressure die casting is preferred.
- 7Must pass background check and drug screen.
