What You'll Do8

  • 1Install new alarm panels, sensors, and wiring for district construction and renovation projects, using CCTV and access control systems.
  • 2Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning alarm systems, including fire alarms, intrusion detection, and panic buttons, across all campuses.
  • 3Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on fire alarm and security systems to ensure code compliance and operational readiness.
  • 4Respond to emergency alarm calls, diagnose faults on-site, and restore system functionality within 24 hours.
  • 5Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for major repairs, verifying work meets district and NFPA standards.
  • 6Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts inventory, using the district's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • 7Collaborate with campus administrators and safety officers to prioritize alarm upgrades and test drills.
  • 8Drive a district vehicle to multiple sites daily, carrying tools and spare parts for immediate repairs.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years of experience installing and servicing commercial alarm systems, including fire, intrusion, and access control.
  • 2High school diploma or equivalent; state certification in low-voltage or electronic security preferred.
  • 3Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record to meet district vehicle policy.
  • 4Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes for alarm system testing and maintenance.
  • 5Proficiency in reading blueprints and wiring schematics for new installations.
  • 6Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
  • 7Strong digital skills for documenting work orders in CMMS and using mobile devices.
  • 8Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for emergency response.
