Accounts Receivable Clerk, Collections & Reconciliation
Overview
Manage customer account activity and collections for a Dearborn, Michigan operation. You will reconcile payments, resolve billing disputes, and drive timely receivables. Work with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems in a team-focused finance environment. Your accuracy and judgment keep aging current and close processes smooth.
What You'll Do8
- 1Reconcile customer payments and account activity, investigating variances and resolving outstanding differences.
- 2Monitor receivables aging and communicate with customers regarding overdue invoices to improve collection results.
- 3Address billing questions and work with internal and external contacts to correct account-related issues.
- 4Review information in customer portals to verify account details, compare records, and ensure accurate balances.
- 5Contribute to month-end accounting activities by preparing receivable reconciliations and supporting close procedures.
- 6Maintain complete and accurate documentation for account activity, audit support, and financial recordkeeping.
- 7Prepare customer-related sales or spend reports and assist with credit application and credit check processes.
- 8Support sales tax reporting, special accounting assignments, and provide backup assistance across the accounting team.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of accounts receivable experience, including collections, cash application, and account reconciliation.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- 4Experience using accounting software and customer account portals in a business setting.
- 5Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- 6High level of accuracy, strong data entry capability, and excellent organizational skills.
- 7Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively with others.
