Accounting Specialist, AP & Finance Operations in Wholesale Distribution
Overview
Accounting role owning high-volume AP and supporting month-end close for a regional plumbing wholesaler. You'll work with purchasing, operations, and vendors to ensure accurate financials at scale. This role emphasizes ownership, accuracy, and process improvement within a collaborative finance team. What You'll Do10
- 1Build high-volume Accounts Payable processes and ensure invoices align with PO and receiving documents
- 2Design and execute weekly payment runs and electronic disbursements to vendors
- 3Own vendor records, inquiries, and statement reconciliations to maintain clean AP aging
- 4Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close
- 5Assist with Accounts Receivable tasks and support financial reporting and audits
- 6Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and finance to resolve discrepancies and optimize workflows
- 7Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls
- 8Support year-end close activities and financial statement preparation
- 9Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal policies
- 10Maintain accuracy through ongoing process improvement and documentation
Requirements10
- 1Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Accounts Payable
- 2Experience in wholesale distribution, inventory accounting, manufacturing, or construction-related industries preferred
- 3Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger processes
- 4High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
- 5Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- 6Experience using ERP or accounting software
- 7Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines
- 8Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 9Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently
- 10Onsite role in Denver, CO with full-time schedule 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
