Accident Reconstructionist Contract Role
Overview
You will reconstruct motor vehicle collisions through scene analysis, vehicle inspections, and EDR data interpretation for a national insurance defense firm. You own cases from intake to final report, applying engineering principles and physics to determine speeds, impact angles, and collision dynamics. Work with LIDAR, drones/UAS, and collision reconstruction software to deliver expert analysis. This contract role offers exclusive work with Advantage Investigations and requires courtroom testimony when needed.
What You'll Do10
- 1Conduct collision scene investigations and vehicle examinations
- 2Analyze physical evidence, vehicle damage, roadway conditions, and photographs
- 3Download, collect, and interpret Event Data Recorder (EDR) data
- 4Use reconstruction methodologies to determine vehicle speeds, impact angles, and changes in velocity
- 5Prepare detailed written reports outlining findings and conclusions
- 6Communicate findings to attorneys, insurance claims professionals, and law enforcement
- 7Provide litigation support and courtroom testimony when required
- 8Operate LIDAR scanners, drones/UAS, total stations, and photogrammetry tools
- 9Utilize collision reconstruction software platforms to model crash dynamics
- 10Maintain professional documentation and chain of custody standards
Requirements9
- 1Demonstrated experience in collision scene investigation and accident reconstruction
- 2Formal accident reconstruction training from Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, IPTM, or equivalent
- 3Membership in professional reconstruction associations
- 4Experience using one or more collision reconstruction software programs
- 5Experience with specialized reconstruction equipment
- 6EDR collection and interpretation training and experience
- 7Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 8Ability to independently manage and complete assignments
- 9Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
