Overview
You will own the full reconstruction estimating process for fire and water damage projects across multiple SERVPRO franchises, producing accurate scopes and estimates from initial site inspection to final client sign-off. You will work directly with homeowners, adjusters, and project managers, balancing speed and precision in a high-volume restoration environment. The role sits within a family-run company that has operated for over 35 years and is expanding into new markets, offering a stable, team-oriented culture with room for growth. You will use Xactimate daily to create detailed estimates, and your work directly impacts how quickly families can recover from disaster. What You'll Do10
- 1Build accurate Xactimate estimates for residential and commercial fire and water damage, analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- 2Walk job sites to document damage, create sketches, and develop initial scopes that align with client expectations and industry standards.
- 3Present estimates to Project Managers, clarifying line items and adjustments to ensure smooth project initiation.
- 4Educate customers on the reconstruction process, setting clear expectations and building trust from the first meeting.
- 5Coordinate with structural engineers, electrical inspectors, and ITEL to validate scope and pricing on complex claims.
- 6Identify upgrade opportunities or project constraints, proposing value-added solutions to customers.
- 7Deliver finalized estimates within 48 hours of site inspection, keeping project schedules on track.
- 8Maintain a customer satisfaction rating above 90% through consistent communication and accurate documentation.
- 9Support the Project Manager in pricing bid items and negotiating scope changes with adjusters.
- 10Update estimate revisions as work evolves, ensuring the final invoice matches the executed scope.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of construction estimating or insurance adjusting experience in property restoration
- 2Proficiency in Xactimate estimating software, with ability to produce detailed line-item estimates
- 3Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and adjuster interactions
- 4Advanced math skills for calculating material quantities, labor hours, and profit margins
- 5Critical thinking to identify hidden damage and adjust scopes accordingly
- 6Valid driver's license and clean driving record for frequent local travel
- 7Physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and tolerate extreme heat on job sites
- 8BA in engineering, construction science, or related field preferred but not required
