Overview
The Cook 2 will provide valuable services to the Youth we serve at the State of Ohio Department of Youth Services facility. This role involves preparing and serving food while maintaining strict sanitation standards.
What You'll Do9
- 1Works under direction and applies knowledge of food preparation sanitation storage and operation of food service equipment
- 2Prepares and cooks foods while monitoring service lines and loading carts
- 3Operates commercial kitchen equipment to cook meals and prepare salads desserts and breads
- 4Mixes salad and makes desserts dressings and breads while preparing hot and cold beverages
- 5Slices meat and cheese makes sandwiches and assembles fruit plates and relish trays
- 6Cleans and cuts vegetables and meats before cooking and maintains a sanitary work area
- 7Sets up food lines and portions according to dietary requirements and daily recipes
- 8Secures food storage areas and uses Class A/B utensils
- 9Performs other cook duties as assigned including attending meetings and trainings
Requirements3
- 1Formal education in arithmetic addition subtraction multiplication division
- 2Six months training or six months experience in food preparation sanitation and storage using food service equipment in institutional school or restaurant settings
- 3Background check and drug screening required

$44 - $48k per year
