Wellness Coordinator, Senior Fitness Programs
Overview
You will lead fitness and wellness programs for residents and employees across our senior living campuses, directly impacting their strength, balance, and independence. Report to the Wellness Director and collaborate with a dedicated wellness team that values creativity and connection. This role stands out because you will teach a variety of classes, including aquatic and group exercise, and help shape a Culture of Wellness that prioritizes active living for older adults.
What You'll Do7
- 1Lead group exercise, aquatic, strength, balance, and flexibility classes for residents and employees, adapting to varied abilities.
- 2Develop and implement campus-wide wellness programming at Providence Point and Baptist Manor, promoting participation and engagement.
- 3Conduct fitness assessments, orientations, and one-on-one coaching to help participants set and achieve personal wellness goals.
- 4Coordinate class schedules, instructors, and wellness events, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.
- 5Create a safe environment by monitoring fitness and aquatic spaces, maintaining equipment, and acting as a lifeguard when needed.
- 6Engage residents and employees through wellness education, promotional activities, and advisory group support.
- 7Track participation and feedback, using data to refine programs and report on success.
Requirements9
- 1College degree in Exercise Science, Fitness, Health & Wellness, or related field, with 2+ years of related experience.
- 2Current certification through ACSM, ACE, AFAA, SilverSneakers, or another recognized fitness organization.
- 3Demonstrated experience leading group exercise classes and adapting programming for diverse fitness levels.
- 4Knowledge of strength, flexibility, balance, aerobic conditioning, chair and floor exercise, and fitness equipment.
- 5Experience with fitness assessments, evidence-based programming, participant motivation, wellness coaching, and exercise prescription.
- 6CPR/AED certification or ability to complete in-house certification.
- 7Lifeguard/First Aid certification or ability to become certified as required.
- 8Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an energetic, positive, and customer-focused approach.
- 9Comfortable using computers and technology for scheduling, communication, participation tracking, and program evaluation.
