Welder Job in Charlotte, NC | MIG/TIG Welding
Overview
This role owns the welding and assembly of precision components at a Concord, North Carolina facility, supporting production runs for aerospace, defense, and automotive clients. The welder uses MIG/TIG equipment on stainless and carbon steel, and backs the quality assurance team with part layouts and inspections. This position blends hands-on welding with blueprint reading and GD&T, plus some robotic welding operation. What You'll Do8
- 1Set up and operate MIG/TIG welding equipment to produce GMAW and GTAW mild steel joints.
- 2Assemble exhaust assemblies, racks, and prototyping fixtures to customer specifications.
- 3Perform 1st piece table layouts and troubleshoot builds using CMM reports for accurate first pieces.
- 4Maintain precise job documentation across all production runs.
- 5Load and run the robot welder in auto mode, and repair assemblies as needed.
- 6Investigate and resolve issues discovered during build or inspection.
- 7Ensure shipped products meet internal and customer requirements per CMM reports, blueprints, and AWS specifications.
- 8Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
- 2AWS Certification required.
- 31-2 years of welding experience in an industrial setting.
- 4Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T notation.
- 5Basic understanding of CAD/SolidWorks software.
- 6Ability to use hand and layout/inspection tools.
- 7Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- 8Basic problem solving and arithmetic skills.
- 9Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- 10Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes, chemicals, and loud noise.
