Weighmaster, Scale Operations & Customer Service
Overview
You own the scale house at Mazza Recycling, serving as the first and last point of contact for every customer who enters the facility. You handle inbound and outbound scale transactions with accuracy, collect fees, and verify paperwork, all while keeping a clean and organized work area. You work outdoors in all weather, collaborating with a tight team of weighmasters and managers who value precision and customer care. This role stands out because NJ Weighmaster Certification is required, making you a licensed professional from day one, and you get direct exposure to recycling operations in a family-owned business.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet and assist customers at the scale with a professional and welcoming demeanor
- 2Process inbound and outbound scale transactions accurately, entering weights and customer details into the system
- 3Collect fees for transactions and verify required paperwork, including permits and manifests
- 4Answer basic customer questions and emails, providing clear information on procedures and pricing
- 5Communicate any issues or irregularities to the Lead Weighmaster immediately
- 6Keep the scale area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- 7Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, maintaining focus and accuracy
- 8Support the team by flexing to overtime or weekend shifts as needed
Requirements7
- 1NJ Weighmaster Certification required
- 21+ years in a customer service role, preferably in a weigh station or similar environment
- 3Basic computer and data entry skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- 4Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods
- 5Flexible to work overtime or weekends as needed
- 6Authorized to work in the U.S.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent
