Water Resources Manager, Recharge & Recovery
Overview
The Water Resources Manager leads a team responsible for reviewing, processing, and issuing permits for underground storage and recovery facilities across Arizona. This role operates in a hybrid schedule, coordinating with internal staff and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes and ADWR policies. The position focuses on managing sensitive, deadline-driven projects and fostering accountability and collaboration.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and supervise the Recharge and Recovery team to process permits for underground storage facilities and recovery wells
- 2Review, interpret, and apply statutory regulations and program policies to guide staff and stakeholders
- 3Issue permits and transfer long term storage credits and maintain credit accounts
- 4Represent the Department in meetings with clients and other agencies and serve as a technical expert in hearings
- 5Develop, organize, and disseminate policies, procedures, and training materials to support program operations
- 6Coordinate with internal staff and external customers to resolve complex or sensitive issues
- 7Ensure data requests and public records requests are fulfilled accurately and promptly
- 8Lead staff in preparing programmatic and policy recommendations for senior leadership
- 9Manage workload, deadlines, and priorities to meet program objectives
- 10Foster a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and professionalism across the team
Requirements5
- 1Ten (10) years of professional level water resource management experience or a related combination as described in the selective preferences
- 2Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with eight (8) years of experience or Master’s degree with six (6) years or Doctorate with four (4) years of experience
- 3Two (2) years supervisory/management experience
- 4Experience with state and federal water resource laws and regulations
- 5Ability to communicate complex statutes, policies, and procedures to diverse audiences
Salary Insight
$65 - $95k per year
