Wastewater Superintendent, Nashville, TN
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Superintendent to oversee daily field operations for heavy civil construction projects involving water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, underground utilities, and related infrastructure. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications and quality standards. What You'll Do21
- 1Coordinate all aspects of project work including scheduling budgeting quality control and safety procedures
- 2Organize manage track and maintain project documentation such as Budgets Subcontracts Purchase orders Plans and specifications RFIs Change orders/documents Submittals Project communications As-built documents Operations and maintenance manuals Meeting minutes Interpret construction drawings and specifications
- 3Monitor construction activities and understand construction processes
- 4Measure work in place and perform field observations
- 5Support quality assurance activities
- 6Develop and manage RFIs and assist with resolving project issues
- 7Identify and solve job-site problems in a practical and timely manner
- 8Maintain positive working relationships with owners engineering firms superintendents subcontractors and other project personnel
- 9Provide general support to the project team and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- 10Manage day-to-day construction activities on water and wastewater job sites
- 11Supervise field crews subcontractors vendors and equipment operations
- 12Ensure construction activities comply with project plans specifications and contract requirements
- 13Lead and enforce safety programs including OSHA compliance and daily toolbox talks
- 14Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules
- 15Coordinate with Project Managers Engineers Inspectors Owners and other project stakeholders
- 16Monitor productivity labor hours material deliveries and equipment utilization
- 17Identify and resolve field issues change orders and project delays
- 18Oversee the installation and construction of concrete structures process piping pumps and mechanical equipment underground utilities water and wastewater treatment systems
- 19Maintain accurate daily reports progress logs and other site documentation
- 20Ensure work is completed according to quality and safety standards
- 21Coordinate multiple crews and construction activities to maintain project progress
Requirements5
- 15–10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Field Leader in Heavy Civil Construction Water/Wastewater Infrastructure
- 2Strong knowledge of construction sequencing blueprint and specification reading civil and structural construction mechanical systems
- 3Experience working on Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants Lift Stations Pump Stations Underground Piping Systems
- 4Valid driver's license
- 5OSHA certification is preferred
