You will build the chemo program from day one, ensuring USP compliance and setting the standard for patient safety.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Prepare and administer chemotherapy agents using biological safety cabinets and PPE within the first 90 days.
  • 2Monitor patients during and after treatment, documenting responses and reporting adverse reactions to the oncologist.
  • 3Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters for treatment and diagnostics.
  • 4Educate clients on chemo protocols, side effects, and home care, providing compassionate support.
  • 5Maintain accurate treatment logs and chemotherapy calculations, reviewed per hospital policy.
  • 6Oversee chemotherapy inventory, including ordering hazardous drugs and equipment maintenance.
  • 7Coordinate safety training and competency assessments for the oncology team.

Requirements5

  • 12+ years clinical veterinary experience with strong venipuncture and catheter skills.
  • 2Experience with critically ill patients and ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • 3Preferred background in veterinary oncology and advanced chemotherapy certification.
  • 4Familiarity with ezyVet or similar EMR systems preferred.
  • 5Knowledge of USP standards and hazardous drug handling protocols.
