Overview

What You'll Do15
- 1Assist shelter veterinary services team in medical and surgical procedures
- 2Administer medications as directed to shelter animals
- 3Clean and disinfect surgical and medical areas
- 4Maintain medical equipment and supplies
- 5Handle and restrain animals during procedures
- 6Perform data entry to update animal records
- 7Conduct clinic reception duties including phone calls and scheduling
- 8Lead process improvement initiatives
- 9Perform euthanasia and related tasks
- 10Provide medical assistance and counseling to patrons
- 11Collect samples for testing and perform laboratory tests
- 12Take accurate radiographs and administer anesthesia
- 13Place IV catheters and calculate drug dosages
- 14Complete swing-shift or overnight shifts after training
- 15Solicit feedback and collaborate with management
Requirements6
- 1High school diploma or equivalent and current CCD Veterinary Apprenticeship student status
- 2Six months of customer service experience
- 3Desired experience in veterinary clinics or similar settings
- 4Working knowledge of current veterinary practices
- 5Professional experience with animals
- 6Veterinary assistant certification
