What You'll Do11
- 1Inserts and maintains arterial lines midlines PICC and central venous catheters using ultrasound guidance
- 2Conducts patient assessments and collaborates with physicians for optimal vascular access decisions
- 3Performs line insertions and daily maintenance while adhering to IHI bundle compliance
- 4Utilizes ECG tip placement verification via chest X-rays for precise central line positioning
- 5Documents all procedures accurately and manages electronic medical records
- 6Assists with intubations and administers aerosolized medications with proper protocol adherence
- 7Collects pulmonary function tests and educates patients on breathing techniques
- 8Processes bag mask ventilation and supports critical care interventions
- 9Maintains respiratory equipment and performs troubleshooting as needed
- 10Develops training materials and shares best practices with interdisciplinary teams
- 11Supervises junior staff and contributes to quality improvement initiatives
Requirements5
- 15+ years respiratory care experience with arterial line insertion and vascular access management
- 2Arizona Respiratory License and NBRC Vascular Access Specialist certification
- 3Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- 4Graduate degree in healthcare with Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care accreditation
- 5Strong clinical judgment for patient safety and complication management
