Overview
You will maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and facility spaces at Boston University - Wheelock College. You own the daily upkeep of equipment, floors, and storage areas to support food production. You work afternoon and evening shifts, part-time, in a hands-on role. This position requires standing and walking for full shifts, with lifting up to 50 pounds. It is a direct support role within Sodexo's on-site team.
What You'll Do9
- 1Wash dishes by hand or in a dishwashing machine, ensuring sanitary standards
- 2Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
- 3Sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors throughout the facility
- 4Remove trash and garbage to designated disposal areas
- 5Clean equipment with specific chemicals to meet health codes
- 6Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials
- 7Set up and break down service areas as directed by supervisors
- 8Stand or walk for extended periods, up to 8+ hours per shift
- 9Reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
Requirements6
- 1High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 2No prior work experience required
- 3Knowledge of sanitation procedures and basic food safety concepts
- 4Ability to stand or walk for full shifts exceeding 8 hours
- 5Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- 6Able to work afternoon and evening shifts, varying days
