Urgent Care Clinical Therapist (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC) - NY
Overview
As an Urgent Care Mental Health Specialist, you will own direct therapeutic services for pediatric patients (ages 5-26) and their families in a high-volume urgent care setting. You will deliver CBT and other short-term modalities, conduct assessments, and create treatment plans. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across locations including Riverdale, Mamaroneck, Forest Hills, Syosset, and Selden. This role stands out by integrating mental health into pediatric urgent care, offering both in-person and virtual consultations.
What You'll Do8
- 1Provide on-site and remote therapy to pediatric and adult patients using CBT and other evidence-based modalities.
- 2Assess patients with standardized tools like PHQ9 and GAD7 to identify mental health needs and guide families.
- 3Develop treatment plans and discharge plans within 48 hours of patient visits.
- 4Lead clinical team meetings with Urgent Care and Mental Health staff to coordinate care.
- 5Deliver brief consultations and education to staff and families on mental health issues.
- 6Refer patients and families to PM Mental Health services or community resources as needed.
- 7Represent PM Mental Health with local providers, hospitals, and payers.
- 8Make independent clinical decisions with minimal guidance in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
Requirements8
- 1LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC license in the state of practice.
- 22+ years experience in crisis intervention and short-term counseling.
- 3Deep knowledge of child development and pediatric mental health issues.
- 4Strong skills in psychosocial assessment and treatment planning.
- 5Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- 6Familiarity with community facilities and resources for discharge planning.
- 7Understanding of medical terminology and the healthcare team's roles.
- 8Ability to work evenings (12pm-8pm or 1pm-9pm) on weekdays.
Salary Insight
$70 - $85k per year
