Treatment Nurse Lead - LVN Wound Care Los Angeles
Overview
You will own skin care for residents at Royal Palms Post Acute, treating skin orders from physicians and leading weekly skin assessments. You will work with the Director of Nursing and Medical Director to modify treatment regimens for each resident. The role emphasizes wound documentation and decubitus ulcer prevention, using observation, inspection, and palpation. You will also educate residents and families on prevention techniques, making this a patient-facing position with real impact. This role stands out because you will lead wound IDTs and shape skin care protocols.
What You'll Do6
- 1Identify and treat specific skin disorders and primary/secondary lesions in the first 90 days
- 2Complete weekly skin assessments for all residents and document results with accuracy
- 3Deliver treatment and therapy per physician orders for skin conditions
- 4Ensure residents with decubitus ulcers receive prophylaxis like daily inspection, turning, and clean bedding
- 5Educate residents and families on skin prevention techniques to maintain health
- 6Submit written and oral reports to the attending physician and complete weekly skin reports for the DON
Requirements5
- 11+ years of nursing or healthcare experience
- 2Active LVN license for California
- 3Experience with wound documentation and wound IDTs
- 4Wound certified preferred
- 5High school diploma or equivalent required
