Overview
You will build and repair metal structures across Michigan and neighboring states, earning up to $50/hour plus overtime and double-time. You join a global engineering firm in Wixom with a 75% travel requirement. The team relies on your fabrication skills for field projects. You advance through certifications and long-term assignments.
What You'll Do8
- 1Execute MIG and Stick welds on structural components per blueprints.
- 2Fabricate parts using saws, shears, and metal cutting machinery.
- 3Read blueprints and use tape measures, squares, and gauges.
- 4Operate rigging equipment, cranes, and forklifts for material handling.
- 5Assemble mechanical systems and piping per project specs.
- 6Inspect work for compliance with AMS 2750, CAI-9, and FMPA 86.
- 7Coordinate with field crews to ensure on-time completion.
- 8Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow OSHA guidelines.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of welding and fabrication experience with a valid driver's license.
- 2Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding techniques.
- 3Experience with hand and power tools, saws, shears, and cutting machinery.
- 4Blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
- 5Familiarity with mechanical assemblies and piping systems.
- 6Basic electrical safety knowledge, including power on/off procedures.
- 7Willingness to travel up to 75% within Michigan and other states.
- 8Knowledge of AMS 2750, CAI-9, or FMPA 86 is a plus.
- 9US work authorization and clean pre-hire checks.
