Overview
We seek experienced Travel Registered Nurses for Med Surg Telemetry PCU Progressive Care opportunities in Columbus Ohio. This role offers multiple contract assignments with day and night shifts. What You'll Do35
- 1Provide safe compassionate evidence-based nursing care to adult acute-care patients
- 2Perform comprehensive head-to-toe and focused nursing assessments
- 3Monitor vital signs neurological status cardiac rhythm oxygenation and overall patient condition
- 4Administer medications safely according to physician orders and facility protocols
- 5Manage IV medications and peripheral and central venous access
- 6Monitor patients receiving IV fluids medications antibiotics and other therapies
- 7Provide care for patients with multiple medical diagnoses and complex healthcare needs
- 8Monitor patients requiring telemetry and cardiac rhythm observation
- 9Recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms and escalate significant changes appropriately
- 10Monitor oxygen requirements and respiratory status
- 11Provide wound care and skin assessments
- 12Assist with mobility activities of daily living and patient safety
- 13Implement fall prevention and infection prevention measures
- 14Monitor intake and output and recognize fluid or electrolyte concerns
- 15Review laboratory results and communicate clinically significant abnormalities
- 16Provide patient and family education regarding medications treatment plans discharge instructions and disease management
- 17Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers respiratory therapists physical therapists occupational therapists case managers pharmacists and other healthcare team members
- 18Accurately document assessments interventions medications and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- 19Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
- 20Follow hospital policies nursing standards infection-control procedures and patient-safety protocols
- 21Continuous cardiac monitoring frequent vital-sign and clinical assessments
- 22Management of patients with complex medical conditions
- 23Monitoring patients with cardiac respiratory neurological renal or other acute conditions
- 24Recognizing early signs of clinical deterioration
- 25Managing patients requiring closer observation and intervention
- 26Coordinating care for patients transitioning between ICU and acute-care settings
- 27Providing appropriate escalation when patient acuity changes
- 28Care for patients with cardiac conditions respiratory conditions diabetes infection sepsis renal disease gastrointestinal conditions neurological conditions post-operative needs chronic disease exacerbations complex medical conditions

Requirements11
- 1Current Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in Ohio
- 2Recent acute-care hospital nursing experience
- 3Experience in Med Surg Telemetry PCU Progressive Care Stepdown Intermediate Care
- 4Strong patient assessment skills
- 5Strong medication administration and IV therapy skills
- 6Ability to recognize changes in patient condition
- 7Experience with cardiac monitoring
- 8Experience with complex IV therapies
- 9Experience with Epic or other electronic medical records
- 10BLS certification
- 11ACLS certification for higher-acuity PCU assignments when required
Salary Insight
$114 - $125k per year
