Travel Infusion RN, Oncology & Chemotherapy
Overview
Travel Infusion RNs own the full infusion cycle for acute patients in New Brunswick, NJ, from PICC line insertion to post-infusion monitoring. You will work 4x10 day shifts, delivering chemotherapy, hydration, and blood products in a hospital setting. Reporting to the clinical supervisor, you will partner with oncologists and nursing staff to adjust care plans in real time. What You'll Do8
- 1Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and blood components via PICC lines and central catheters, following physician orders.
- 2Monitor patients for adverse reactions, documenting vital signs and condition changes each shift.
- 3Educate patients and families on infusion procedures, aftercare, and potential side effects.
- 4Coordinate with the care team to modify treatment plans based on patient response and lab results.
- 5Maintain infusion equipment, ensuring sterile technique and IV patency.
- 6Document all interventions in the EHR within the same shift.
- 7Respond to infusion-related emergencies, initiating protocols until the physician arrives.
- 8Precept new nursing staff on infusion best practices and hospital policies.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of RN experience with infusion therapy or oncology.
- 2Active RN license in New Jersey or compact state.
- 3BLS and ACLS certifications current.
- 4Experience with PICC lines and central venous catheters.
- 5Proficiency in EHR documentation and medication administration.
- 6Chemo certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- 7Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
- 8Flexibility to work 4x10 day shifts, including weekends as needed.
