Overview

The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator RN leads continuous monitoring of trauma patients from pre-hospital to discharge to enhance care continuity and process improvement. This role involves direct patient and family interaction, data collection, and analysis while ensuring compliance with Trauma Performance Improvements and Patient Safety Programs. It also includes preparing reports for the Trauma Committee and driving initiatives to address identified issues.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Identify and resolve problems in trauma care delivery through data analysis and chart abstraction
  • 2Monitor trauma cases daily and present findings to the Trauma Committee
  • 3Develop and implement action plans to improve trauma care processes
  • 4Ensure adherence to Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Programs
  • 5Conduct concurrent and retrospective chart reviews to identify trends and patterns
  • 6Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address quality improvement opportunities
  • 7Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for clinical leadership
  • 8Lead performance improvement projects with measurable outcomes within 90 days
  • 9Stay current with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements
  • 10Provide education and training to staff on trauma protocols and documentation standards
  • 11Participate in hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives

Requirements10

  • 1Minimum 3 years Emergency Critical Care Trauma experience
  • 2California RN license required at hire
  • 3Integrative Agitation Management certification within 30 days
  • 4Master of Science in Nursing preferred
  • 5Proven ability to conduct data analysis and interpret results
  • 6Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • 7Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements
  • 8Experience with EMR systems and data modeling tools
  • 9Ability to work independently and make data-driven decisions
  • 10Commitment to patient-centered care across diverse populations
