What You'll Do6

  • 1Respond to trauma activations and cover consults and pager as needed, documenting services rendered.
  • 2Write daily progress notes, discharge summaries, and procedure notes for trauma and acute care surgery patients.
  • 3Participate in weekly outpatient clinic, ensuring follow-up appointments are scheduled and appropriate referrals are made.
  • 4Assist in wound care and provide patient/family education to promote safe continuity of care.
  • 5Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, coordinating care with trauma nurse navigator, social work, case management, and trauma program manager.
  • 6Collaborate with trauma and acute care surgical faculty, residents, and interns to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements7

  • 1CA RN and CA NP licenses required.
  • 2MSN or DNP in Adult Acute Care NP (AG-ACNP) specialty required.
  • 3National Board NP Certification in NP specialty required.
  • 4DEA and Furnishing Number required.
  • 5BLS, ATLS, and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC required.
  • 61+ year experience with neurosurgical procedures preferred; new grad NP with relevant RN experience considered.
  • 7NP1: less than 6 months experience; NP2: 6+ months experience.
