Family Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care & Pediatrics
Overview
You will own patient care for a diverse family medicine practice, seeing 15-20 patients daily in Dallas, TX. Your clinical judgment drives diagnoses and treatment plans across acute, chronic, and pediatric cases. You will work with a collaborative care team, including physicians, MAs, and RNs, using Epic and eClinicalWorks for documentation. This role offers a sign-on bonus and lets you apply advanced procedures like suturing and Botox treatments in a supportive outpatient setting.
What You'll Do8
- 1Perform comprehensive physical exams and patient assessments to establish accurate health status for family medicine and pediatrics patients.
- 2Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, suturing, and dermal fillers or Botox procedures.
- 3Manage acute and chronic conditions across emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and internal medicine with a focus on preventive care.
- 4Document all patient encounters in Epic or eClinicalWorks efficiently, ensuring accurate coding and billing compliance.
- 5Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging, and specimen collection, to guide clinical decisions.
- 6Educate patients on medication management, nutrition, and lifestyle changes, empowering them for long-term health.
- 7Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospitals, nursing homes, and telehealth settings to ensure seamless care transitions.
- 8Handle urgent care and Level I & II trauma center scenarios, demonstrating adaptability in high-acuity situations.
Requirements8
- 1Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current ANCC or AANP certification in family or adult-gerontology.
- 22+ years of clinical experience in emergency medicine, ICU, or hospital medicine settings.
- 3Hands-on proficiency with Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EHR systems for accurate documentation.
- 4Strong grasp of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- 5Ability to perform IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and wound care with sterile processing standards.
- 6Experience managing pediatric patients (including neonatal ventilator care) and geriatric patients with memory disorders.
- 7Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD-10 for precise billing and compliance.
- 8Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments like urgent care or trauma centers with Level I & II experience.
