As a Transporter I, you will safely transport passengers across Gaston County, ensuring timely and courteous service. What You'll Do9
- 1Transport passengers to and from destinations in the safest, most efficient manner, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort.
- 2Maintain accurate daily trip logs and transmit data to ACCESS's accounting system; collect and account for all fares daily.
- 3Inspect vehicles before and after each route, checking for service or maintenance concerns and reporting issues promptly.
- 4Refuel vehicles at propane and fueling stations, ensuring operational readiness.
- 5Operate 2-way radio equipment to receive and relay passenger information and dispatch instructions.
- 6Provide physical assistance to passengers entering or exiting the vehicle, including lifting up to 60 lbs, and monitor passenger behavior during transit.
- 7Enforce all safety precautions during vehicle operation, including seatbelt use and securement of mobility aids.
- 8Maintain cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, ensuring a professional appearance.
- 9Participate in quarterly training sessions to sharpen driving skills and stay current on safety protocols.
Requirements6
- 1High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of driving experience; must be at least 21 years old.
- 2Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) obtained within 3 months of employment.
- 3Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs and assist passengers with boarding and exiting.
- 4Working telephone at residence for scheduling and emergency contact.
- 5Bondable, courteous, dependable, and able to relate to people of all ages and economic and ethnic backgrounds.
- 6Must pass criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment.
