What You'll Do7
- 1Operate transit buses, school buses, and paratransit vans on assigned routes, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
- 2Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, securement, and mobility support, preserving their dignity and comfort.
- 3Execute emergency response procedures, including emergency stops, when incidents occur on the road.
- 4Communicate route details and safety instructions clearly, using multilingual skills when needed.
- 5Adjust to traffic changes and route shifts to keep trips punctual and reliable.
- 6Inspect vehicles before and after shifts, reporting maintenance issues promptly.
- 7Follow school policies or senior care protocols when transporting students or elderly riders.
Requirements8
- 1Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; bus or commercial driving experience preferred.
- 2Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at state and local levels.
- 3First aid certification (CPR training is a plus) and familiarity with emergency response procedures.
- 4Experience working with children or seniors is highly desirable.
- 5Excellent communication skills and strong customer service orientation.
- 6Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment.
- 7Defensive driving skills with quick response to traffic changes or hazards.
