Transit Safety Director, ANS
Overview
Lead development and delivery of world class Environmental Health and Safety management systems for complex transit and infrastructure projects. Build and grow regional safety consulting teams while defining service offerings and standards. Provide executive level safety oversight and drive continuous improvement across safety lifecycles.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and implement Environmental Health and Safety management systems aligned with client corporate and state agency objectives
- 2Establish and grow regional safety consulting teams through recruitment mentoring and professional development
- 3Define service offerings standards tools and delivery models for construction safety services within the Transit Group
- 4Provide executive level safety oversight for complex transit and infrastructure construction projects
- 5Oversee full safety lifecycle including planning program development field inspections compliance verification and monthly audits
- 6Lead Root Cause Analysis for serious incidents and near misses collaborating with project teams and clients to implement sustainable corrective actions
- 7Partner with Finance and project leadership on risk insurance and claims management including OCIP/CCIP programs and workers compensation
- 8Serve as trusted advisor to public agencies contractors and internal leadership on construction safety and regulatory compliance
- 9Represent firm in high level meetings with transit agencies Cal/OSHA and other regulatory bodies
- 10Support clients during audits inspections and regulatory interactions
- 11Act as key technical contributor during proposals and interviews
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 18 years progressive construction safety management experience
- 2At least 5 years senior leadership with responsibility for multiple projects programs or regions
- 3Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Health Environmental Health and Safety Construction Management Engineering or related technical field
- 4Equivalent education and experience combination may be considered
- 5Construction Health and Safety Technician CHST acceptable for construction focused roles
- 6Other nationally recognized safety credentials such as ASP CSHO or equivalent based on experience and role alignment
- 7State of California QSP or QSD certification
- 8OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health
- 9Valid California Class C driver’s license
- 10Bonus points if Certified Safety Professional CSP preferred
Salary Insight
$140 - $210k per year
