Training and Knowledge Management Specialist
Overview
You will design, implement, and maintain a centralized Knowledge Base for Xcel Energy, housing key data, information, and resources to support enterprise knowledge management. You will build strategic partnerships with business units to gather critical data and translate technical information into user-friendly formats. Collaborating with leaders across the company, you will develop impactful communication tools, including job aids, training courses, and videos. This role offers the chance to shape how 3.4 million electricity and 1.9 million natural gas customers are served through improved internal knowledge sharing.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build a centralized Knowledge Base within the first 90 days, organizing content for easy retrieval by employees.
- 2Partner with subject matter experts to produce job aids, work instructions, training courses, slide decks, and videos.
- 3Translate technical data into clear, persuasive communications for a broad employee audience using PowerPoint and Excel.
- 4Develop videos, graphics, and charts to communicate processes and data effectively.
- 5Manage content indexing, workflow rules, and publishing standards for the Knowledge Base.
- 6Collaborate with Business Systems teams to implement user-friendly information systems.
- 7Drive adoption of the Knowledge Base by training employees and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
- 8Create and deliver communication bulletins and shareable videos to support business initiatives.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in Communication or equivalent education and experience.
- 23+ years related experience, with 1 year of training experience preferred.
- 3Strong organization, analytical, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- 4Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and content publishing tools.
- 6Ability to travel up to 25%.
