What You'll Do11
- 1Develop traffic forecasts to support design and operational analysis
- 2Support travel demand model development and maintenance including data input calibration and validation
- 3Lead transportation planning activities and traffic operational modeling simulations
- 4Conduct safety studies MOT evaluation and capacity analysis
- 5Perform analysis across urban air mobility highway bus rail bike new mobility and pedestrian modes
- 6Create multimodal traffic forecasts and technical reports for freeways and urban areas
- 7Utilize GIS VISSIM TransModeler and programming languages for demand modeling
- 8Analyze large passive data to understand travel behavior
- 9Apply statistical analysis techniques to derive actionable insights
- 10Integrate travel demand model data with operational analysis systems
- 11Communicate findings effectively at all organizational levels
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Geography Planning Engineering or related field
- 25-10 years of relevant experience
- 3Practical experience with modeling software for demand and operational analysis
- 4Proficiency in GIS programming languages such as R Python GISDK or Cube Scripts
- 5Understanding of travel demand modeling fundamentals and advanced practices
- 6Ability to use large passive data sources for behavioral modeling
- 7Knowledge of data sources including Census employment datasets and roadway inventories
- 8Demonstrated ability to convey technical information to decision makers
- 9Familiarity with macroscopic mesoscopic and microscopic modeling approaches
- 10Working knowledge of GIS statistical and quantitative analysis programming
- 11Preference for experience with AASHTO MUTCD Highway Capacity Manual and Highway Safety Manual
