You will blend dispatch coordination with precise data entry and mentoring of junior dispatchers. Working onsite in New York, you will use DAT Load Board and Microsoft Outlook to keep shipments moving and records accurate. What You'll Do8
- 1Assign loads to drivers based on availability, location, and efficiency, using DAT Load Board and Truckstop to match freight.
- 2Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, communicating consistently with drivers, brokers, and customers.
- 3Monitor shipments in real time and resolve delays or issues as they arise.
- 4Enter and update load details into internal systems, including locations, times, rates, and weight.
- 5Maintain accurate driver logs and shipment records, uploading documents such as BOLs, rate confirmations, and PODs.
- 6Track expenses like fuel and detention, ensuring all financial data is correct.
- 7Mentor new dispatchers on dispatch software and workflow, providing guidance on driver and broker communication.
- 8Review data entry for accuracy and deliver constructive feedback to improve team performance.
Requirements8
- 12+ years in dispatch or logistics coordination, preferably with tractor-trailer operations.
- 2Hands-on experience with DAT Load Board or Truckstop for load matching.
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and spreadsheet software for tracking and communication.
- 4High attention to detail, especially in data entry and documentation.
- 5Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with drivers, brokers, and customers.
- 6Ability to multitask and prioritize in a demanding operational environment.
- 7Basic knowledge of trucking regulations and compliance (preferred).
- 8Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
