What You'll Do10
- 1Dispatch drivers for 120+ scheduled mail routes daily using ELD and TMS systems.
- 2Cover all assigned routes and flag coverage gaps to management within 2 hours of detection.
- 3Track driver progress in real time, providing support for HOS and ELD compliance.
- 4Coordinate pickups and deliveries with clients, brokers, and drivers via phone and load boards.
- 5Secure backhaul freight on DAT and Truckstop to maximize equipment utilization.
- 6Plan efficient routes in Google Maps and PC Miler to cut transit time by 10%.
- 7Maintain accurate logs of dispatch, shipments, and driver hours in Excel and Samsara.
- 8Work with maintenance to reduce downtime, scheduling repairs within 24 hours of issues.
- 9Communicate delivery delays to customers proactively, offering alternative solutions.
- 10Audit driver logs weekly to ensure FMCSA and DOT rule adherence.
Requirements9
- 12+ years in trucking dispatch or logistics coordination.
- 2Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, ELD devices, and HOS rules.
- 3Fluent in Microsoft Office and transportation software like Samsara or McLeod.
- 4Experience with load boards like DAT and Truckstop for backhaul sourcing.
- 5Strong verbal and written communication for driver and client interactions.
- 6Ability to multitask and prioritize in a demanding operational environment.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics preferred.
- 8Flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts when needed.
- 9Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
