Overview
As a Tool & Die Maker at Tube Specialties, Inc., you own the full lifecycle of tooling and fixture work for aerospace tube assemblies. You machine precision parts, repair dies and jigs, and bring design improvements to tools using SolidWorks in a shop that supports fighter jets, ground support vehicles, and the SM-3 missile. What You'll Do6
- 1Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan and design tooling, dies, and assemblies
- 2Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) to shape parts to precise dimensions
- 3Fit, assemble, and repair dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures using machine and hand tools
- 4Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators
- 5Run test cycles on completed tools and dies, inspect for defects, and make adjustments
- 6Recommend design improvements to tooling and fixtures using SolidWorks and CAD/CAM software
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 23+ years of experience as a Tool Maker
- 3Prior press work experience required
- 4CNC, CAM, Fadal, and Milltronics machine experience preferred
- 5Basic knowledge of design principles and CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks) preferred
- 6Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality and safety
- 7Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills
