What You'll Do8
- 1Monitor cardiac rhythms and detect dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment, intervening on changes in patient condition.
- 2Administer and manage fixed rate IV drips, reviewing medications and adjusting as ordered.
- 3Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with heart disease, heart failure, or dysrhythmias, updating based on response.
- 4Collaborate with physicians, staff, and support teams to coordinate care across disciplines.
- 5Mentor new graduate nurses and orientees, modeling professional nursing practice.
- 6Advocate for patients by identifying issues like abuse or resource gaps, making referrals as needed.
- 7Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and cardiac care.
- 8Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR.
Requirements10
- 1Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- 2Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- 3AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- 4Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- 5Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- 6One year previous telemetry or critical care nursing experience OR completion of a basic cardiac dysrhythmia training course.
- 7Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City employees only).
- 81+ years acute care RN experience for sign-on bonus eligibility.
- 9Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- 10Preferred: Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN).
