Registered Nurse Cardiac Telemetry Nights Denver
Overview
You will own patient care for a cardiac telemetry unit at AdventHealth Porter, managing a 3-4 patient load in a 24-bed unit. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, administer medications, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team using EPIC and BedMaster. This role offers a $20K sign-on bonus and a Clinical Ladder with up to 20% salary increases. You will thrive in a faith-based environment that values whole-person care and professional growth.
What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct comprehensive assessments of cardiac telemetry patients, evaluating physiological, psychological, and spiritual needs, and document using EPIC.
- 2Develop and update individualized care plans based on patient responses, adjusting interventions to achieve optimal outcomes.
- 3Administer cardiac medications and IV therapies with precision, monitoring for arrhythmias and adverse reactions on BedMaster and GE monitors.
- 4Educate patients and families on heart failure management, medication adherence, and lifestyle changes to reduce readmissions.
- 5Collaborate with cardiologists, pharmacists, and case managers to coordinate discharges and transitions of care.
- 6Respond to cardiac emergencies, leading ACLS protocols and stabilizing patients until further intervention.
- 7Mentor new grads and orientees on telemetry best practices and EKG interpretation.
- 8Utilize Microsoft Windows and Cerner to chart, order, and communicate with the care team.
Requirements8
- 1Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 21+ years of acute care hospital experience preferred, ideally in cardiac or telemetry.
- 3Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or compact state required.
- 4Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, ACLS preferred.
- 5Proficiency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition.
- 6Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple patients.
- 7Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- 8Basic computer skills in Microsoft Windows and electronic health records.
