Registered Nurse Fellow, Cardiac Telemetry PCU
Overview
You will own cardiac telemetry care for a 40-bed acute unit at Inova Alexandria Hospital, managing patients on high flow oxygen and BIPAP. You will join a Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care team that handles top DRGs including CHF, chest pain, and complex arrhythmias. This full-time night shift role offers sign-on and relocation bonuses and a $10,000 student loan benefit. Unlike standard med-surg roles, you will train to transition from general acute care into the Progressive Care specialty.
What You'll Do8
- 1Perform comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
- 2Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- 3Conduct all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- 4Advocate for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provide counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
- 5Access resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
- 6Document all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assist healthcare team members with documentation.
- 7Evaluate the process to achieve outcomes, anticipate patient variances and make revisions to plans of care.
- 8Make clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.
Requirements5
- 1BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate's degree (ADN), must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- 21+ years of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
- 3Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- 4Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
- 5Previous experience in inpatient acute care or medical surgical strongly preferred.
