Technical Sourcer, AI & Engineering Talent
Overview
You will own full-cycle sourcing for engineering and AI roles at Perplexity, identifying top-tier talent across the Bay Area tech landscape. You will sit on the talent team, partnering with recruiters and hiring managers to shape the foundation of our growth. This role demands technical fluency, a builder's instinct for AI, and the ability to experiment with new sourcing strategies. You will set the bar for how sourcing is redefined in the age of AI, operating with grit and taste in a fast-moving environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and maintain a robust pipeline of engineering and technical talent using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and GitHub scraping.
- 2Design and execute talent mapping campaigns to identify high-bar companies and emerging AI researchers from top conferences like NeurIPS and ICML.
- 3Launch AI-assisted outreach sequences with ChatGPT or LangChain to automate initial touches and personalize at scale.
- 4Partner with recruiters to decode technical requirements and calibrate candidate profiles against role specifications.
- 5Track and analyze pipeline metrics in Greenhouse to identify bottlenecks and adjust sourcing tactics weekly.
- 6Run SOBOs (search on behalf of) for niche roles, diving into published papers and open-source contributions to find candidates.
- 7Experiment with new sourcing channels, from Discord communities to X (formerly Twitter) threads, to uncover passive talent.
- 8Present shortlists of top candidates to hiring managers with clear rationale and technical assessment notes.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of technical sourcing experience in high-growth tech companies, with a focus on engineering and AI roles.
- 2Proven ability to run advanced Boolean searches and use LinkedIn Recruiter and GitHub to identify candidates.
- 3Strong technical literacy, able to parse resumes covering Python, Rust, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- 4Experience with talent mapping and building market intelligence for emerging tech stacks like LLMs and RAG.
- 5Demonstrated curiosity with AI tools, using ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini to automate and enhance sourcing workflows.
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication, with a track record of building trust with candidates and internal partners.
- 7Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities, able to pivot sourcing strategies on a dime.
- 8A mindset of continuous learning, experimenting with new sourcing methods and sharing insights with the team.
Salary Insight
